The Heritage Lottery Fund has supported the Birch Lane Heroes project to research the lives of Bradford Northern Players, staff and community.
Bradford Northern continued to play throughout the war but the war obviously has a huge impact on the the players, club and fans.
Schools, community groups and individuals can benefit from the project. Interactive educational sessions are being developed, talks are being delivered and volunteers working on the project.
Bradford Northern’s ground during the First World War was Birch Lane on a site leased by Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club.
