This Friday night is Children in Need, and as a charity that benefits from all the donations that are collected up and down the country, we thought that we’d lift the lid on some of the great work that they fund via the Bulls Foundation.
We received a grant for 3 years of funding in 2016, totalling to just over £100,000, in order to fund our “Extra Time with the Bulls” project.
The scheme takes place in rolling blocks of 6 weeks and involves us running after school sessions with young people between 10 and 19 all over Bradford, allowing kids to take part in activities such as stadium tours, cooking, physical activity sessions, press conferences.
The scheme is designed to improve the children’s confidence, motivation and health – and we’ve seen great success with all 120 kids who have already taken part.
We’re just coming up to half way through our funding timeline and by the end of the scheme, 360 local young people will have benefitted from it.
Currently, we are working with Thornton Primary School, Hill Top Primary School and Appleton Academy, but we are always open to new partnerships with primary schools, so drop us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
When you’re watching Children in Need this Friday, remember the good work being done right here in Bradford – and maybe chuck them a quid or two!
