Our Sky Try rugby coach Ryan does not know the meaning of the word rest. Every day he picks himself up anew and wanders out into the streets of Bradford to bring the good message of rugby league to the people, provided that they are at school and under the age of 11.
Ryan is the Pied Piper of primary school rugby league, going wherever he is needed to get kids tackling, passing and scoring tries. Have cones, will travel.
On Thursday he was hard at work at Lapage Primary School in Barkerend, where he passed on some of his rugby league repertoire to kids and teachers alike as part of the Sky Try scheme.
“The children have learned a lot of new skills and have really gained confidence,” said teacher Rachel Lodge. “I feel that I also gained confidence in teaching rugby.”
Sky Try is designed to help Rugby League clubs’ charitable foundations – that’s us! – to make an impact by delivering new opportunities to play, watch and become involved in the sport.
Here’s a few photos from Ryan’s trip!
